报告人简介：Professor Regan J. Thomson received his Ph.D. degree from Australian National University in 2003. Then, he moved to group of David A. Evans in Harvard University and started his Post-doctoral Fellow. In 2006, He joined Northwestern University. His research interest was focused on Organic chemistry, Reaction Design and Development, Natural Product Synthesis, Biosynthesis, Atmospheric Chemistry. He received numerous honors and awards after he started his independent work. Such as Novartis Chemistry Lectureship (2015–2016)，Illinois Division American Cancer Society Research Scholar (2012–2016)✒️，National Science Foundation Career Award (2009-2014
报告内容简介：This lecture will describe the efforts within his lab related to the synthesis of the Galbulimima alkaloids, a large family of complex natural products isolated from the rainforests of northern Australia and Papua New Guinea. An historical perspective will introduce this remarkable family of molecules, with a focus on the structural and biosynthetic relationships between the varied family members. A more conventional first generation total synthesis of GB17 within his lab will be described, followed by recent investigations that led to a unified biomimetic synthesis of both GB17 and Himandravine through double diene containing linear precursors.
